You work hard to pay the premiums for your family's life, health, auto and homeowner's insurance policies. When claims arise, insurers should quickly and efficiently pay them. Unfortunately, however, some insurers search for ways to avoid paying legitimate claims. That is wrong.

Another big problem is when a claim arises and you find out from your insurer for the first time that the insurance policy you have been paying for does not cover what you were told it would cover. That is wrong too.

You buy insurance to protect you when you are most vulnerable. Unfortunately, unscrupulous insurers prey upon people when they are weak and in peril in a variety of ways, such as cozying up to you and telling you that you do not need a lawyer or offering you far less than the value of your claim.

Should any of these events happen to you, you need to consult a lawyer. Don't be swayed by promises that you're in "good hands." Insurance law is complex business. You should have an expert to help you when troubles arise.
