Richard Bounds

Mr. Bounds was born in 1928 and was graduated the University of Alabama 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree and Juris Doctorate degree in 1956. He was admitted to the Bar in 1956. While in law school, he was a member of the Alabama Law Review.

He was co-founder of the firm in 1958 with Robert T. Cunningham Sr. Mr. Bounds developed a local general practice and since 1973 represented plaintiffs exclusively, championing individual rights. His practice has been in the area of Personal Injury, General Negligence, Product Liability, Insurance Fraud, Bad Faith, Medical Malpractice, Admiralty and Maritime Law.

He is currently Of Counsel to the firm.

Affiliations

During Mr. Bounds' distinguished career, he has participated in all levels of national, state and local civic and professional organizations serving as the Mobile Bar Association President (1994), President of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association (1966-1967), member of the Board of Governors of the Association of the Trial Lawyers of America (1972 - 1975), Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, member of the International Society of Barristers, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation.
