George M. Dent, III

Mr. Dent graduated from Yale University in 1978 with a B.A. in Philosophy. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law and was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1981. In 1981-82, he served as Faulkner Division Law Clerk for the Supreme Court of Alabama. From 1982 until January 1999, he served as Staff Attorney for Justice Reneau P. Almon of the Supreme Court of Alabama. He joined Cunningham Bounds, LLC in January 1999.

Mr. Dent and his wife Nancy reside in Daphne, Alabama.

Mr. Dent's areas of practice include appellate practice; personal injury and wrongful death litigation, class actions, general negligence, product liability, medical negligence, admiralty and maritime law, and consumer fraud actions.

Affiliations

Mr. Dent is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Mobile County Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, and the Alabama Association for Justice (for which he is a member of its Amicus Curiae Committee). Mr. Dent is the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme Court of Alabama on the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure. He is also a member of the Lawyers' Advisory Committee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
