Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Bounds participated in all levels of national, state and local civic and professional organizations. Born in 1928, Mr. Bounds, along with Robert T. Cunningham Sr., co-founded Cunningham Bounds in 1958. He represented plaintiffs exclusively, championing individual rights. His practice was focused on Personal Injury, General Negligence, Product Liability, Insurance Fraud, Bad Faith, Medical Malpractice, Admiralty and Maritime Law. 

Mr. Bounds graduated from the University of Alabama in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1956. During law school, he was a member of the Alabama Law Review.

Mr. Bounds served as the Mobile Bar Association President (1994), President of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association (1966-1967), Member of the Board of Governors of the Association of the Trial Lawyers of America (1972 - 1975), Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Member of the International Society of Barristers, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation.
