MOBILE’S WOMEN LAWYERS RAISE THOUSANDS FOR LOCAL GIRL SCOUTS

Mobile, Ala. – Recently, the Mobile Bar Association (MBA) Women Lawyers held its 5th Annual Professional Networking Event to benefit a local charity. Attended by more than 120 women of different professions, this year’s event raised $7,000 that will be donated to the Girl Scouts of Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

The lead sponsor of the event was the law firm of Cunningham Bounds. “We were pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor such a worthwhile event again this year,” said Lucy Tufts, a partner with Cunningham Bounds, LLC. “This event offers a unique opportunity for businesswomen all along the Gulf Coast to network, share ideas, support one another, promote our local economy, and raise money for a worthy charity. We are thrilled by the incredible amount that this event raised for the Girl Scouts.”

Helen Alford, former President of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama, stated: “GSSA is dedicated to girls ages 5 to17 and serves 30 counties in Alabama including Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Girl Scouts are more than cookies and camping. GSSA is dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. GSSA is most appreciative to the MBAWL and all those who attended the networking event.”

“The members of the Mobile Bar Association Women Lawyer are so appreciative of everyone who supported this event – our vendors, our attendees and especially, Patricia Barnes, a/k/a/ “Sister Schubert,” who offered an inspiring keynote address.” said Tiffany Bock Smith, an attorney with the law firm of Satterwhite, Druhan, Gaillard & Tyler, LLC.
