Cunningham Bounds, LLC is pleased to announce that Geoffrey M. Williams has been hired to serve as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Most recently, Mr. Williams served as the COO and CIO of a Florida-based law firm that serves Fortune 100 and Global 100 companies and large institutions. He has 17 years of business operations experience, which includes 10 years in the legal industry.
Mr. Williams earned The Graduate Certificate in Law Firm Management from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is one of 308 Certified Legal Managers (CLM) worldwide credentialed by the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). Mr. Williams graduated cum laude from Huntingdon College. While there, he was a member of the Tri-Sigma Honors Society and a founding member of Huntingdon’s Chapter of the ODK National Leadership Honor Society. After college, Mr. Williams obtained a graduate degree from Princeton Seminary.
Mr. Williams actively engages in professional development and leadership efforts for various organizations. He was named 2007 ACEL Member of the Year and is an invited alumnus of the Indiana University Professional Development Seminar. He has led seminars for regional and national conferences for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) and the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), among others. He is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), American Management Association (AMA), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and an Associate Member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and its Law Practice Management Section.
Mr. Williams’ interests include composing and recording music in a variety of genres, playing electronic keyboards and trumpet, being involved in his children’s activities and church activities, and watching college sports. He performed as a guest instrumentalist with the University of Florida Symphony Orchestra, appeared live with several acclaimed musicians of various styles of music in assorted venues in the United States and England, and has appeared on several recordings.
Mr. Williams is married to the former Marjorie A. Linnell of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. They currently reside in Daphne, AL with their three children.
