The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled more than 300,000 swivel bar chairs sold by Lowe’s and made by 3i Corporation. The chairs were sold from November 2008 until August 2016 at Lowe’s stores nationwide and online. The recall involves allen + roth brand Safford model and Garden Treasures brand Lakeview model bar chairs sold in sets of four. Consumers should stop using these chairs immediately according to the manufacturer.

The chair base is at risk of breaking causing the legs to detach from the center post thus creating a fall hazard. Numerous serious injuries have been reported including head injuries and broken ribs.

Consumers who own these chairs may contact the manufacturer at www.lakeview-safford.com for a free replacement base and a repair kit.
