Each year proceeds benefit a local charity with the year's event raising $7,000 for The Girl Scouts of Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Cunningham Bounds Sponsors Networking Event for Women
Cunningham Bounds sponsored “An Evening of Networking” for women in the Mobile area that was hosted by the Women Lawyers of the Mobile Bar Association. With almost 200 attending this signature event, professions ranged from lawyers and judges to accountants and business owners. Everyone had the opportunity to “network” with the purpose of establishing viable business contacts. The highlight of the evening was an inspiring message shared by Justice Janie Shores, the first woman elected to serve on the Alabama Supreme Court.
Proceeds from the event benefitted the Leading Edge Institute, a nonprofit mentoring and leadership program for young women focusing on business development, political involvement and public service.
According to Lucy Tufts, Cunningham Bounds attorney and president of the Mobile Bar Association Women Lawyers, the group plans to make this an annual event.
“We Do Kickin’ Right” at Young Lawyers Tournament
An enthusiastic team of Cunningham Bounds attorneys and staff played in the Young Lawyers first-ever Kickball Tournament at Battleship Park during Law Week. Cunningham Bounds was a sponsor of the event, which benefited the Mobile Bar Foundation. Despite going undefeated in the tournament, the team was eliminated from playing in the championship game by tie-breaker rules.
