Lance Lourie is a highly respected trial attorney with nearly four decades of experience representing individuals and families harmed by medical negligence, nursing home abuse, and other serious personal injuries. Joining Cunningham Bounds as a partner in January 2026, Lance brings deep courtroom experience, strategic insight, and a career-long commitment to holding physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions and corporations accountable when their misconduct causes devastating harm.
Lance's interest in law began when he was working for his father, a lawyer and public servant who served in the South Carolina Legislature and spent his career as a tenacious advocate for the rights of common people. This foundation instilled in Lance a lifelong dedication to fighting for those who need a voice.
Lance focuses his practice on complex medical malpractice, elder neglect and abuse, wrongful death, and personal injury cases. For the first twelve years of his legal career, he represented hospitals, physicians, and corporate defendants in medical malpractice and other liability claims. That experience now provides a powerful advantage for his clients, giving him a unique, inside understanding of how healthcare providers, insurers, and large institutions evaluate risk, prepare cases, and defend claims. For more than two decades, Lance has devoted his practice exclusively to representing injured individuals and their families, using that knowledge to secure meaningful results.
Throughout his career, Lance has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients and has earned a reputation for strategic thinking, meticulous preparation, and personal dedication. He is known not only for his trial skills, but for his integrity and credibility with courts, juries, and opposing counsel.
Lance is an active leader in the legal profession. He has served as Vice President at Large and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is a frequent speaker and contributor at continuing legal education programs nationwide, presenting on topics including trial strategy, discovery, medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and complex personal injury cases. He has also been called upon to testify a number of times before legislative committees on issues involving elder abuse and neglect, as well as medical malpractice.
Beyond his legal practice, Lance has served on the Board of The Interfaith Children's Movement since 2010, an interfaith organization that advocates with respect to issues affecting children, particularly children in lower socioeconomic communities.
Outside the courtroom, Lance enjoys spending time with his wife, Robin—also an attorney—and their family. His interests include boating, fishing, and time at the beach.
