Maggie Utsey brings grit, heart, and a deep sense of purpose to every case. Born and raised in Butler, Alabama, Maggie grew up watching her father and late grandfather serve their rural community through the law — a legacy that inspired her to follow in their footsteps. Grounded by her small-town roots and driven by a passion for helping others, she connects with clients on a personal level and fights relentlessly on their behalf.
Maggie earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Public Relations from the University of Alabama, where she was awarded six merit scholarships and held leadership roles in multiple honor societies. She earned her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, where she was involved in the Cumberland Student Bar Association, Women in Law, the American Association for Justice, and the Cumberland Public Interest & Community Service Organization. She also volunteered with the STAIR literacy program in Birmingham.
Before joining Cunningham Bounds, Maggie completed clerkships that sharpened her skills in legal research, writing, and strategy. Today, she blends sharp advocacy with a strong sense of compassion, making her a trusted and effective voice for her clients.
Maggie is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Mobile Bar Association, Baldwin County Bar Association, First Judicial Circuit Bar Association, Alabama Association for Justice, and American Association for Justice.
