Throughout his distinguished career he has held numerous notable positions. He is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Member of the American Association of Justice. He has also served as President of the Alabama Association for Justice (1990 - 1991) and has been a member of its Executive Committee. He is a Charter Member of the "Pioneers for Justice" of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation and has been a Member of the International Society of Barristers since 1985. He also sat on the Society’s Board of Governors between 1995 and 1997.
John graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1972. He joined Cunningham Bounds after moving to Mobile in 1974 and in 1975, John became a partner of the firm. In 1986, John was certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Specialist. He is certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and has served as an examiner for the Alabama Board of Bar Examiners in the area of Civil Procedure.
Throughout his legal career, John has focused on actions involving personal injury, general negligence, products liability, insurance fraud, bad faith, medical malpractice, admiralty and maritime law, and complex litigation, including class actions.
