$3 Million Paid by Chase Home Finance for Use of Improper Affidavits

Taylor et al. v. Chase Home Finance, LLC | United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama 15-00057 | United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Alabama AP No. 06-01139

Cunningham Bounds obtained a $3 million settlement against Chase Home Finance in a case in which plaintiffs alleged that Chase provided improper affidavits to the bankruptcy court because the signature pages were executed separately from the other pages of the document and/or the affidavits were signed without the affiants knowing the contents. The court certified a class of affected debtors in the Southern District of Alabama, and a settlement class of all affected debtors in Alabama received final approval in July 2015.
