$100,000,000.00 Settlement for Individual Plaintiff in Construction Accident

Cunningham Bounds and the Utsey & Utsey Law Firm obtained a $100,000,000.00 settlement for a quadriplegic client who was injured during a construction accident in Alabama.

$557,301.00 Jury Verdict Against Walmart

Cunningham Bounds recently obtained a $557,301.00 verdict against Walmart.

On June 14, 2019, our client was shopping at a Walmart in Semmes, Alabama when she was knocked to the floor by a Walmart employee pushing a stocking cart. As a result of the incident, she suffered severe permanent injuries, including a broken hip which required surgery during which extensive hardware was used to repair her hip. Following surgery, her recovery included weeks of inpatient physical rehabilitation. Attorneys Jenna Jayjohn York and Tyler Flowers tried the case and obtained the verdict from a Mobile County jury. According to Jenna Jayjohn York, “Throughout the case, Walmart refused to take responsibility for Margaret’s injuries. After hearing all the evidence, the jury did the right thing. They held Walmart accountable.

Welcome – Joseph McGowin

The attorneys of Cunningham Bounds are excited to welcome Joseph McGowin to the firm. Joseph graduated from the University of Virginia and earned his Juris Doctor from the Alabama School of Law. He began his career in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama representing clients who were victims of the negligence and wrongdoing of others. Joseph’s early law practice primarily involved medical malpractice cases. He moved to Texas in 2019 where he continued to represent personal injury clients. While in Texas, he handled cases throughout the nation representing trucking crash victims, oilfield workers, inshore and offshore maritime workers, and clients injured in commercial and industrial accidents. Joseph recently returned to Mobile and joined our firm. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical negligence, product liability, maritime law, and wrongful death cases.

In Our Community

Ronald McDonald House - Cunningham Bounds was honored to serve a Taco Tuesday dinner to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Mobile. The Ronald McDonald House offers rooms for families of pediatric patients receiving medical care at hospitals in Mobile, Alabama. Meals are provided to families through the organization’s Taste of Hope program. The Cunningham Bounds team enjoyed serving a Taste of Hope to residents and visiting with and supporting these families.

Family of the Fallen - Cunningham Bounds was proud to support Family of the Fallen during the 2023 Mardi Gras season. Each year, Family of the Fallen honors Alabama law enforcement officers injured or killed in the line of duty and provides their family members with an opportunity to ride on the organization’s float during Mardi Gras. Our firm was grateful for the opportunity to help honor and thank these officers and families for their service and sacrifice!
