Is your off-road vehicle at risk of catching fire?

|

As of Friday, April 22, 2016, Polaris Industries Inc. began offering free repairs for more than 130,000 recreational off-road vehicles (ROVs) that the company has recalled due to safety concerns.

A report released last week by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Polaris has received more than 160 reports of its 2013 to 2015 RZR 900 and RZR 1000 off-road recreational vehicles catching fire. These fires have seriously injured users, causing first, second and third degree burns. One report details a vehicle catching fire, causing a rollover, and resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl. If you own one of these Polaris vehicles, you should stop using it immediately!

Polaris began selling the 2013 to 2015 RZR 900 and RZR 1000 model vehicles nationwide in 2012. The recall repair is available at Polaris dealerships, and should take about one hour. Visit www.polaris.com to determine if your RZR ROVs VIN number is included in the recall.
