Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Bounds has participated in all levels of national, state and local civic and professional organizations. Born in 1928, Mr. Bounds, along with Robert T. Cunningham Sr., co-founded Cunningham Bounds in 1958. Since 1973 he has represented plaintiffs exclusively, championing individual rights. His practice has focused on Personal Injury, General Negligence, Product Liability, Insurance Fraud, Bad Faith, Medical Malpractice, Admiralty and Maritime Law. Mr. Bounds is currently Of Counsel to the firm.
Mr. Bounds graduated from the University of Alabama in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1956. During law school he was a member of the Alabama Law Review.
Mr. Bounds has served as the Mobile Bar Association President (1994), President of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association (1966-1967), member of the Board of Governors of the Association of the Trial Lawyers of America (1972 - 1975), Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, member of the International Society of Barristers, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation.
